Physical Therapy

Dr. Erika received her Bachelor’s degrees in Dance and Exercise Science at the University of Massachusetts – Amherst. She then moved to Boston to dance professionally. She went to physical therapy school to learn how to help people recover from sports medicine related injuries. While studying, she discovered the field of pelvic health and decided to add this to her training. After completing her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Massachusetts – Lowell she began working near Boston with amazing mentors. She has been practicing physical therapy for over 16 years in the areas of Pelvic Health, Pregnancy/Postpartum, Orthopedics, Sports Medicine and Dance Medicine.

Dr. Erika has spent her career looking at the big picture and evaluating each case individually. She looks at injuries or dysfunction as a large puzzle with a lot of pieces which fit together and help to explain what is going on. In other words, she looks for the root cause of each individual’s injury. She has a particular interest in helping patients better understand their injury and facilitating full recoveries.

Dr. Erika has completed additional training through the North American Institute for Manual Therapy (NAIOMT), American Physical Therapy Association, Herman and Wallace Rehabilitation Institute, Diane Lee, PT. Kinetecore and others. She is certified in Functional Dry Needling.

As a retired professional dancer, Dr. Erika understands the importance of returning to sport and life after injury. She utilizes her training and continued education to look at the whole body to determine the cause of injury and dysfunction. She uses manual therapy and corrective exercises with a focus on neuromuscular retraining as well as pilates based exercise to help in the rehabilitation process.

When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two young daughters and golden retriever. She enjoys dancing, swimming, running, skiing (water and snow), traveling, cooking, gardening, and being crafty.
